Born on Christmas day in 1968 to a Danish father and Peruvian mother, Helena grew up in Denmark and left her home for Paris at the age of 18 to pursue a modelling career.

She caught the eye of fashion photographer Peter Lindbergh who quickly shot her for the cover of English VOGUE. Also Karl Lagerfeld took her under his wing and soon she was fronting Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld ads. She has appeared in numerous editorials and advertising campaigns, and done a huge amount of runway shows.

Helena Christensen became one of the leading supermodels of the 1990′s. In addition to these more traditional modelling opportunities, Helena has also worked in various film and television projects. These include the 1992 independent film Inferno, feature film Pret a Porter and Chris Isaak’s hit music video Wicked Game. The BBC arts-channel has made a documentary on her and she recently starred with a leading role in the Danish art film Allegro, which went on the several film festivals, including Sundance and Venice.

In 1997 Helena co-founded NYLON magazine and at the same time worked as creative director, photographer and journalist for the magazine. She had a son in 1999 and went on to become a freelance photographer. From then on her photography career really took off.

Her photographic editorial work includes the following magazines: Dazed & Confused, Vogue, Elle, Dansk, III Magazine, Black Book, Nylon, Jalouse, Harpers Bazaar, Interview magazine and many more.

She has shot international campaigns for the following: Allesandro Dell’Acqua, Jigsaw, Carlsberg Beer and Sony Ericsson, ONE, Braun, The Warehouse etc.

Helena has bee with our agency since the beginning in 2007.
